ALMA's Projects

The MAM Award:
Recognizing Artisan Talent
At ALMA, we believe that cuisine and hospitality are, first and foremost, expressions of fine Italian craftsmanship. For this reason, since 2016, ALMA has collaborated with the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte to promote the MAM Award - Maestro d’Arte e Mestiere (Master of Arts and Crafts). This recognition was created to give visibility to those we define as "Living Cultural Heritage": professionals who have distinguished themselves not only for the excellence of their work but also for their generosity in passing on their knowledge to new generations.
Italian know-how is a unique heritage of skills and memories. Our mission is to keep it alive, transforming it into a concrete resource for young people who choose to embark on these careers—from ceramics to leatherwork, from carpentry to food and wine.
A Recognition that evolves with the sector
Over its various editions, the Award has strengthened its identity: ALMA has expanded the food and wine section, extending it to the Agricultural, Taste, and Hospitality Arts. With 23 categories awarded in this field, the MAM now represents the meeting point between the land, the kitchen, and hospitality. It is the celebration of a supply chain that starts with respect for nature's products and culminates in the perfection of dining room service.

Why is this award important for our School?
We collaborate on the section dedicated to the "Professions of Taste". Identifying masters who stand out for their competence and generosity in transmitting knowledge allows us to offer our students real and attainable role models.
The MAM Award emphasizes that professional success is born from dedication, study, and precision of action. These are the same values we ask our students to apply every day in the laboratory.
Supporting the Masters of Art means protecting the uniqueness of Made in Italy. For a young person choosing ALMA, this translates into the awareness of becoming part of an elite group of professionals who guard and renew the beauty of Italian crafts.
